You may not think that your child needs an eye examination, but eye problems can occur at any age, and children often aren’t aware that they have a problem with their vision.
At Summers Opticians we strongly recommend that all children have regular eye examinations from when they start school, at around the age of 4 or 5 years old.
However, if you have concerns about your child’s vision, or have a family history of an eye condition, please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your child’s eye care needs, as examinations can be performed on pre-school age children and infants.
The Optometrist will start by having a chat with you and your child, discussing any concerns you may have, and also allowing time for your child to feel at ease.
All of our Optometrists are experienced with examining children’s eyes, and we know how daunting it can seem to them. That’s why we always try and make the eye examination fun, so if your child would rather sit on the floor than the chair, no problem! Whilst your child thinks they are just playing, the Optometrist will be busy completing their eye exam.
We have a huge range of frames available for children, and our experienced Dispensing Optician can help you choose the most appropriate pair for your child’s needs.
Children’s frames now come in wide variety of colours and styles, which makes wearing glasses more fun for your child.
